Transmission is the way an infectious disease gets spread
- Direct Contact – Touching person to person
- Indirect Contact – Spread of infection through an inanimate object. (An object that transmits infection is called a fomite).
- Airborne Transmission – Through mechanisms like droplets (sneeze droplets, ew) or dust.
- Vector borne – Infection by animal or insect bites etc.
