As I mentioned yesterday, I had my first EMT class last night. I think I have a pretty good feel for what to expect: hard work. If you know me at all, you know that’s how I approach most things and EMT will be no exception.
The course-work, test schedule, and minimum scores are fairly weighty. I think I’ve gotten lucky and gotten a great instructor. I asked a trusted friend of mine and was told that he is one of the best. That’s comforting.
I was a little daunted at first. I showed up about 90 minutes early for my class. As the other students came trickling in I realized that I had at least a decade on all of them. Ugh …. but then…. one …. ONE guy showed up that was actually older than me! So there’s that…
If you have any specific questions, feel free to post a comment and I will answer anything you want to know.
For the next few months, it’s heads down and dig!
Here’s what to expect:
- One semester
- 12 credit hours
- 40 quizzes
- 7 exams
- Must not miss more than 10 hours of class
- Must not score below 80% on anything
- 10 classroom hours per week
- 20 hours of study per week
It’s go time.
ps – See those dudes there? They look about 10 years older than the little kids in my class.
